Social Minister Updates DTSEN to Ensure PKH Social Assistance Targets the Right Recipients
Social Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf, alias Gus Ipul, has revealed that the Ministry of Social Affairs is continuously updating the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN). The updating of DTSEN involves the lowest levels, starting from village apparatus, sub-districts, to RT/RW. The goal is to ensure that recipients of PKH (Family Hope Programme) social assistance are more accurately targeted. In addition to village apparatus and RT/RW, PKH assistants from the Ministry of Social Affairs are directly involved in collecting data on social assistance recipients in the field. “Later, the human resources for updating this data will collaborate with our social pillars, one of which is the Family Hope Programme assistants,” he explained. “Now, we are updating the data gradually. Therefore, in the last year, we have conducted consolidation and redirected [aid] from those who do not meet the criteria to those who do meet the criteria for assistance recipients, of course in collaboration with local governments,” he said. “We have cleaned up the community that previously received social assistance; we have reviewed that they are people who should not receive social assistance or have been cleaned up around 11,014 people,” he clarified, quoted from Kompas.com on Thursday (23/4/2026). Amalia stated that some of them were found to be in the middle-income group (deciles 5-10), so they no longer fall into the poor or vulnerable category. Or those who previously did not receive now receive PKH social assistance. “There are those who previously never received [aid] so now they receive it. There are those who have been receiving it, they no longer receive it in this second quarter. Indeed, the data is dynamic,” she said. The government continues to update DTSEN so that it can be analysed by the central system to determine who is eligible to receive social assistance.
