Social Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf, or Gus Ipul, expressed appreciation for Trenggalek Regency’s active participation in successfully implementing President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes, such as updating the National Single Social-Economic Data (DTSEN) and constructing People’s Schools, both pilot and permanent versions. This statement was delivered by Gus Ipul at the event ‘Collaboration on the President’s Priority Programmes in Building Human Resources Towards Economic Independence’ held at the Pendopo Manggala Praja Nugraha in Trenggalek Regency, East Java, on Sunday (29/3). ‘I am grateful that Trenggalek Regency is one of those that are very concerned about data. Mechanisms have already been established, and there are concrete efforts to provide accurate data. However, we still need to refine it so that the data aligns between the central government, provinces, and regions,’ said Gus Ipul in his remarks on Sunday (29/3/2026). Gus Ipul’s visit to Trenggalek was welcomed by various performances from students of SRT 50 Trenggalek and PKH companions, including drama, trilingual speeches (in Arabic, English, and Japanese), choir, and poetry reading. The poetry reader was Fadhilla Anggraini Nur Hidayah, who initially lacked confidence upon entering the People’s School but today proved she could perform in front of the Trenggalek community. ‘Your poetry reading was excellent,’ said Gus Ipul while dialoguing with Fadhilla. Gus Ipul explained that Fadhilla is an example of how accurate data can reach those not carried along in the development process, the so-called ‘the invisible people’. Therefore, Gus Ipul urged all ranks of the Trenggalek Regency Local Government to continue updating data so that all of President Prabowo’s priority programmes, especially in poverty alleviation, can be given to those who deserve it. ‘That is why the President issued Presidential Instruction No. 4 of 2025 on DTSEN. So, there will be no other institutions managing data besides BPS. Our role (Ministry of Social Affairs) is to assist with updates. Now, I, together with the Regent, want to take a systematic, coordinated step for the update,’ explained Gus Ipul. In addition, according to him, Trenggalek is one of the regencies actively proposing the construction of People’s Schools, starting from the pilot SRT 50 Trenggalek and the ongoing process for permanent People’s Schools. ‘Now it has become one of the 104 locations built in the first phase. This first phase is already in process, including Trenggalek Regency,’ he added. At the same venue, Trenggalek Regent Mochamad Nur Arifin explained that since 2016, Trenggalek has had the GERTAK posko programme (Movement to Check Below Poverty Issues), one of whose focuses is on data that must always be updated. ‘Now the homework is how that data can be integrated with the centre through BPS. We have already spoken with BPS. If needed, one of the BPS officers handling that matter will be placed at the GERTAK Posko. So that the system is directly inline,’ said Arifin. In his speech, Arifin also conveyed that currently, Ministry of Social Affairs programmes can be directly felt by the Trenggalek community, one of which is the People’s School. As information, the event was attended by 696 people, consisting of village heads, village data operators, social pillars, as well as parents, students, teachers, and educational staff at the Integrated People’s School (SRT) 50 Trenggalek.
