This year, in its first year of operation, we will graduate 453 People’s School students. These are children who have been assessed, received guidance, and are deemed ready to take final exams at primary, junior secondary, or senior secondary levels. Jakarta (ANTARA) - Social Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf stated that the People’s School, in its first year of operation, is ready to graduate 453 students from various levels, who will be directed towards pursuing higher education or employment. “This year, in its first year, we will graduate 453 People’s School students. These are children who have been assessed, received guidance, and are deemed ready to take final exams at primary, junior secondary, or senior secondary levels,” said Mensos Saifullah Yusuf during a press conference at the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) office in Jakarta on Wednesday. In detail, these children consist of 329 primary school students, 113 junior secondary students, and 11 senior secondary students. “This needs to be conveyed because in accordance with the President’s directive, every People’s School graduate must pursue two pathways. The first pathway is to continue to higher education, at university level, or the second is to become a skilled worker, whether employed domestically or abroad. This is an option for People’s School students graduating at the senior secondary level,” he explained. On that occasion, he also reported that a number of People’s School students have already achieved accomplishments ranging from international to regional levels. According to him, one student has achieved at the international level, 162 students at the national level in various fields, 87 students at the provincial level, and 75 students at the district/city level. By 2027, the target is 100,000 students, 200,000 students in 2028, 400,000 students in 2029, and by 2030, there will be around 500,000 students receiving education at the People’s School. It is planned that every district/city will have one permanent building for the People’s School, accommodating around 1,000 primary, junior secondary, and senior secondary students.
