Social Minister: Metro City in Lampung Begins Social Assistance Digitalisation
Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - Social Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf stated that Metro City is becoming the area in Lampung Province to begin implementing the digitalisation of social assistance (bansos) as a form of digital transformation in the distribution of social aid. “For a long time, much social assistance has not been properly targeted because the data has not been updated, and we are starting to fix this, one of which is by carrying out the digitalisation of social assistance,” said Saifullah Yusuf in Bandarlampung on Saturday. He stated that the digitalisation of social assistance can make the distribution of social aid more transparent and then reduce inclusion errors or exclusion errors (distribution data errors) which are quite commonly found. “With the digitalisation of social assistance, the data will become more accurate, the distribution will be properly targeted and transparent. This programme is also a priority of the President under the guidance of the National Economic Council (DEN) and is currently being trialled in 42 districts and cities in Indonesia,” he said. “If the implementation in these 42 districts and cities across Indonesia shows positive results, just like what has been seen in Banyuwangi, then this will be developed nationally, because this is the President’s attention to provide accurate data and social assistance distribution that is properly targeted,” he said. According to him, the implementation of the social assistance digitalisation trial is currently targeting the Family Hope Programme (PKH) social assistance programme, and non-cash food assistance or grocery aid distributed through the Ministry of Social Affairs. “It is hoped that with this digital transformation of social assistance, it can help improve community welfare because everyone is recorded and assisted according to the target,” said the Social Minister.
