Social Minister Admits PKH Aid Misdirected Due to Inaccurate Data
Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) admitted that beneficiaries of the Family Hope Program (PKH) are not accurately targeted. He attributed the misallocation of social assistance (bansos) to inaccurate data.
‘Our data has been inaccurate for years, causing aid to miss its intended recipients,’ Gus Ipul said in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Sunday (31 May 2026).
He urged improving poor family data to ensure benefits reach those in need. ‘Let’s start presenting honest data. We must fix it now so no poor families remain unregistered,’ added the PKB politician.
Gus Ipul stated he has sought to improve the poor family data system since his appointment as Social Minister and requested regional leaders to continuously update the data.
‘According to BPS data, 45% of PKH beneficiaries are misdirected,’ he said.
