Social Minister: 869,000 PBI JKN Participants Have Been Reactivated
Karawang, West Java (ANTARA) - Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf stated that 869,000 participants in the Penerima Bantuan Iuran (PBI) Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN) programme have been reactivated after 11 million participants were previously deactivated.
“Of the approximately 11 million participants who were previously deactivated, 869,000 have been reactivated through various schemes,” said Saifullah Yusuf, who is also known as Gus Ipul, in Karawang Regency, West Java, on Thursday.
The Social Minister explained that there are various schemes for reactivating PBI JKN participants, namely through re-application; transfer of funding to local governments, state-owned enterprises (BUMN)/regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), or private entities; and a transition to independent enrolment.
“As many as 132,507 participants have re-applied to PBI-JKN and are currently in the process, while 405,965 participants have been reactivated and are funded by local governments through the regional PBI segment,” said Gus Ipul.
Meanwhile, 184,357 participants have switched to the civil servant, state-owned enterprise, or regional-owned enterprise segment because their employment status is indeed as civil servants or employees of state-owned enterprises/regional-owned enterprises.
“This number is quite large and is one of the indicators that previously, the targeting was not entirely accurate,” said the Social Minister.
“Most of them were actually correctly targeted, but there were still some errors, and that is what we continue to fix. Therefore, a re-application mechanism is provided,” he said.
Gus Ipul also stated that he had signed a policy regarding PBI participants that will be in effect for the next three months. During these three months, the policy will be socialised to the participants.
“We advise those who are able to switch to independent enrolment. However, for those who are not able, they will be reactivated through PBI JKN,” he said.
Regarding the indicators for determining eligibility for PBI JKN participation, there are several things that serve as the basis, namely a statement from the village head, regent, or mayor stating that the person in question meets the requirements to receive assistance, or an adjustment with the National Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN).
