Social media influencer and regional head's child test positive for drugs in Riau
PEKANBARU - Social media influencer SA and FA, the child of a regional head in Riau, have tested positive for narcotics, psychotropics, and other dangerous addictive substances (drugs) including cannabis and etomidate. They have been named suspects along with over a dozen others.
“Results were obtained from urine tests after they were caught in a raid at a night entertainment venue in Pekanbaru,” said Pekanbaru City Police Chief Commissioner Muharman Artha during a press conference in Pekanbaru on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.
He explained that around 2:00 AM on Sunday, 24 May 2026, officers discovered suspected drug abuse in a room at a night entertainment venue. “Officers then detained a total of 13 individuals,” he said.
Subsequently, urine tests at Bhayangkara Hospital confirmed all tested positive. The individuals are identified as KS (32), RR (22), GSA (23), TT (28), AF (21), MAY (24), FTR (22), IMF (22), MA (23), NR (23), SAP (22), SA (23), and ALS (23).
From the investigation, two individuals are suspected of being the owners of the narcotics: FTR allegedly possessed 9.8 grams of dried cannabis and four cartridges, while MAY allegedly had 1.2 grams of dried cannabis.
Following the findings, police submitted a comprehensive assessment to the Pekanbaru National Narcotics Agency (BNN) to determine further handling. FR, the owner of the drugs, will proceed to investigation, while MAY is categorised as a heavy user and must undergo three months of inpatient treatment.
The other 11 individuals were not proven to be involved in a narcotics network and are classified as light users. They have been recommended to attend outpatient treatment at the BNN for three to six sessions.
Regarding social media influencer SA, Pekanbaru BNN Chief Commissioner Wawan stated that the individual also consumed alcohol. Meanwhile, the regional head’s child, FA, tested positive for etomidate and cannabis due to second-hand smoke exposure.
