Social Media Account Allegedly Belonging to Confinement Perpetrator Flooded by Netizens, Still Active Despite Police Manhunt
The perpetrator behind the confinement and abuse of a woman for three years remains at large, with police still searching for the suspect. The alleged perpetrator, named Taufik Hidayat, who is the boyfriend of the victim identified by the initials YTR (29), is reported to be moving from place to place.
The victim, from Rancaekek, Bandung Regency, West Java, was in critical condition with serious injuries across her entire body when her family found her at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung. The family admitted they initially could not recognise the victim because her head and face had been destroyed due to the abuse allegedly inflicted by her boyfriend. YTR’s condition is now gradually improving, but she is still receiving intensive care in an isolation room and has undergone several operations.
The case has drawn significant public attention, with netizens on social media searching for accounts belonging to the suspect. A TikTok account, @dudajelek351, was suddenly flooded with comments and likes from thousands of netizens because it is suspected to belong to the perpetrator of the confinement and abuse against YTR. The account has become frequently encountered by TikTok users as many netizens have swarmed it, questioning the true identity of the account owner. The identity and social media account were also shared by prominent lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea on his social media posts.
Many netizens suspect the account owner is Taufik Hidayat, the alleged perpetrator of the confinement and abuse of his girlfriend. However, a number of netizens remain doubtful because the photos in the account’s posts differ from the widely circulated real photo of the suspect. Comments include: “Oh, is this Taufik Hidayat?”, “Is this really the wanted fugitive’s account?”, “What are the police doing, his TikTok is still active,”, “Is this really his account? The person looks completely different,”, “The AI photo is really cool, the real one looks like a dish rag,”, and “Would you have guessed this is him, oh my god.” Several netizens noted that the account remains active and claimed their comments were being deleted by the account owner, with one writing, “He is active right now, hey.”
