Social Assistance and MSMEs Become Key to Achieving Zero Extreme Poverty
Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar, stated that the government is continuously working to reduce the extreme poverty rate in Indonesia, targeting a decline to 0% by the end of 2026. After a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday (12/5), Cak Imin explained that in addition to social assistance, the government is beginning to strengthen economic empowerment programmes so that poor communities do not rely on long-term aid.
