Social Aid Recipients Join Merah Putih Cooperative Without Dues
Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) stated that the collaboration is a follow-up to Presidential Instruction No. 9 of 2025. Through this policy, the government encourages social aid recipients to engage in productive economic activities at the village and sub-district levels.
“This is the second time I have met with the Director of Agrinas, in order to follow up on Presidential Instruction No. 9 of 2025, where we are tasked with encouraging social aid beneficiaries from the Ministry of Social Affairs to become members of KDKMP,” said Gus Ipul in his statement on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
He conveyed this during a visit to the PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara office in East Jakarta on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
Gus Ipul revealed that the synergy aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives to strengthen social empowerment. He hopes the presence of cooperatives will stimulate local village economies.
“The main point is how the cooperative becomes part of the social empowerment programme as expected by President Prabowo. This is a momentum for us, how village communities become more empowered, with money circulating in the village, and obtaining the best prices,” explained Gus Ipul.
Gus Ipul added that through membership in KDKMP, social aid recipients can be encouraged to become economic actors. Meanwhile, the involvement of family members of aid recipients (KPM) as workers in KDKMP also opens up new job opportunities. With this step, social aid is expected to serve as a bridge to economic independence.
Furthermore, Gus Ipul explained that if one KDKMP absorbs 17 workers, then 10,000 cooperatives have the potential to absorb 170,000 workers. This means 170,000 KPM or poor communities have the opportunity to become independent and graduate from social assistance.
“That’s if it’s 10,000, whereas this will be 50,000, up to 80,000. It’s extraordinary, just multiply it. This is massive job creation based on villages, extraordinary,” he said.
On the same occasion, PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara’s President Director Joao Angelo De Sousa stated that KDKMP is built by the state for the people to improve welfare. Therefore, this cooperative will not burden the community.
“All citizens do not need to pay dues and do not need to create savings-loans that must be deducted or deposited monthly at the outlets. But the state provides, supplies, and the people just manage together with Agrinas,” explained Joao.
As information, at this meeting, Gus Ipul was accompanied by Deputy Social Affairs Minister Agus Jabo Priyono. Previously, Gus Ipul and the Agrinas Director toured the KDKMP Development Command Centre room. That room serves as a real-time monitoring centre for the progress of KDKMP development throughout Indonesia.
