Social Affairs Ministry Officially Opens 3,053 PPPK Formations for Sekolah Rakyat Teachers in 2026, Check Requirements Here
The Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia has officially opened the selection process for Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) for Functional Teacher Positions assigned to Sekolah Rakyat for the 2026 fiscal year. This move is part of a National Strategic Project (PSN) based on Presidential Instruction Number 8 of 2025 concerning the Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Alleviation. Unlike regular schools, Sekolah Rakyat are designed as boarding schools providing access to quality education for children from families classified in deciles 1 and 2 of the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN).
Based on Announcement Number 1995/1/KP.01.01/06/2026, a total of 3,053 formations are available. These are spread across various subjects, ranging from primary school class teachers to specific subject teachers at junior and senior high school levels. The formations with the greatest needs include primary school class teachers (1,496), Indonesian language (241), English (198), and Mathematics (185). In addition to teachers, the ministry is also opening 5,127 formations for Educational Support Staff (Tendik), which includes positions for Guardians, Dormitory Supervisors, and School Operators to support the boarding ecosystem.
This is a specialised selection intended for applicants meeting specific criteria. Beyond standard administrative requirements such as Indonesian citizenship, age 20–40, and a clean criminal record, the key differentiating requirement for the 2026 PPPK Sekolah Rakyat Teacher selection is priority for graduates of Professional Teacher Education.
The registration process is conducted online through the official BKN portal. Key timeline stages include registration, administrative selection, and competency testing. The ministry clarified that graduates of the Pre-Service PPG programme are the main priority. The role differs from teachers under the education ministry as these teachers fall under the Social Affairs Ministry, focus on students from extremely poor families, and are required to participate in the boarding care system. Salaries follow the national PPPK pay grade standard, supplemented by a special placement allowance governed by internal ministry regulations.
