The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has resumed the distribution of post-disaster aid to North Aceh Regency, Aceh Province. The assistance is being disbursed in stages based on data submitted by the local government.

Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, known as Gus Ipul, stated that post-disaster aid on Sumatra Island will continue to be distributed, including for the North Aceh Regency area. Aid that has not yet been disbursed is currently being processed in accordance with applicable mechanisms.

“We have received an instruction from the Minister of Home Affairs as the head of the task force that aid can be immediately distributed through the designated mechanism,” Gus Ipul explained when receiving North Aceh Regent Ismail A. Jalil at the Ministry of Social Affairs office, as quoted from a press release on Tuesday (21/7/2026).

To ensure it is well-targeted, the aid distribution is based on recommendation data from the local social services agency. This data has also been approved by the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and validated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

Through this mechanism, aid is distributed in stages according to verified and validated data. Gus Ipul expressed his appreciation to North Aceh Regent Ismail A. Jalil for his efforts in ensuring data accuracy so that aid reaches the right recipients.

“We thank the Regent of North Aceh for working hard to present accurate data, data that reflects the objective conditions on the ground, and data that has been properly verified, especially for the families affected by the disaster,” he said.

To date, the total aid distributed to residents of North Aceh Regency has reached Rp 61,835,450,000. The disbursement process is still ongoing in the field.

The assistance includes stage one compensation for the heirs of 288 deceased individuals worth Rp 4.32 billion. There is also compensation for 496 individuals with serious injuries worth Rp 2.48 billion.

In addition, there is housing content assistance for 4,212 heads of families (KK) worth Rp 12.63 billion and living allowances for 15,807 individuals worth Rp 21.33 billion. The Ministry of Social Affairs also provided economic stimulus assistance for 4,212 heads of families worth Rp 21.06 billion.

Gus Ipul mentioned that the next phase of aid distribution for North Aceh and its surrounding areas is currently in the submission process.

“So, once again, because it takes time for North Aceh to obtain accurate data, we are now in the process of submitting it. Hopefully, it will not take too long to be completed and can be distributed soon,” he said.
