Social Affairs Ministry and BPS Ready to Launch DTSEN Version 3

The Ministry of Social Affairs, together with Statistics Indonesia (BPS), is preparing to launch version 3 of the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) as a commitment to strengthening the accuracy of the database for distributing social assistance. Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf stated in a press conference following a meeting with the Head of BPS in Jakarta on Wednesday that intensive coordination is routinely carried out every three months to consolidate periodic data updates. “DTSEN serves as a guideline to make the distribution of social assistance more accurate. However, consolidation is still needed, particularly with local governments, so that our data better reflects reality,” he said. He added that regular reporting from local governments is crucial to prevent the state from mistakenly channelling aid to beneficiaries who have passed away or moved domicile. The government’s quota for beneficiaries of the Family Hope Programme (PKH) and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPN) targets 18 million families. From this quota, the Ministry’s Data and Information Centre previously announced that 475,626 new families have been designated as beneficiaries for the second quarter of 2026. These new recipients replace previous ones who have graduated from the programme, died, or were detected as civil servants (ASN), members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) or National Police (Polri), employees of state-owned enterprises (BUMN), or members of the legislature. Meanwhile, Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti conveyed that the synchronisation and finalisation of the DTSEN version 3 for 2026 is scheduled for completion in early July. In addition to the DTSEN update, BPS has agreed to provide a dedicated channel called ‘Cek DTSEN’ to accelerate the process for the public and students to perform independent data updates, particularly regarding decile status adjustments. “We have agreed to provide a channel to accelerate the ability of the public or students to update DTSEN through the ‘Cek DTSEN’ channel,” Amalia stated. On the same occasion, BPS also reported on the progress of the 2026 Economic Census, which is conducted every ten years, noting that overall data collection has reached 30 per cent and household data collection has surpassed 20 per cent of the total population. BPS urged all levels of society to support the success of the 2026 Economic Census by adhering to the ‘TIR’ principle: welcome the census officer at home, provide truthful information, and do not worry as data confidentiality is fully guaranteed by law.
