Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) will deduct performance allowances (tukin) by 3 per cent for Ministry of Social Affairs employees who did not report to work without explanation on the first working day after the Eid holiday. He revealed data showing 2,708 employees failed to log their attendance today.

“The total number of Ministry of Social Affairs employees is 46,090. Of these, 33,683 are working from the office (WFO), 5,071 are working from anywhere (WFA), and 34,284 have flexible arrangements. There are 344 on leave or sick,” said Gus Ipul at the ministry’s office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

“After 10 a.m., when attendance logging closed, 2,708 employees had not recorded their presence. This is a significant number without justification,” he added.

Gus Ipul stressed that unexcused absences constitute a breach of discipline. He assured that the employees would face sanctions in line with prevailing rules, namely a 3 per cent deduction from their performance allowances.

“For those who violate discipline, including failing to log attendance on arrival or departure, a 3 per cent deduction per day will be applied to their performance allowance or tukin,” Gus Ipul emphasised.

The sanction, he continued, is based on Ministerial Regulation No. 6 of 2023 on Performance Allowances for Employees in the Ministry of Social Affairs. In addition to allowance deductions, undisciplined employees face verbal or written reprimands under Government Regulation No. 94 of 2021 on Civil Servant Discipline.

Beyond administrative penalties, Gus Ipul outlined follow-up actions for the 2,708 absent employees. He required all of them to attend a disciplinary briefing tomorrow morning.

“Tomorrow at 10 a.m., I want everyone to join the briefing, either online or in person. For those in Jakarta, attendance is mandatory at the Salemba office,” he stated.

Gus Ipul hopes this incident serves as a lesson for all civil servants (ASN) in the ministry. He urged employees to work with renewed enthusiasm and stronger resolve to serve the public.

“We have monitoring and tools to measure discipline levels. Unfortunately, not everyone follows what they actually understand well,” he remarked.
