Social Affairs Minister Receives Numerous Inputs from KPK Following Consultation on Procurement

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, alias Gus Ipul, admitted that he, along with Deputy Social Affairs Minister Agus Jabo Priyono and the Ministry of Social Affairs team, received numerous inputs from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“We received many inputs and notes earlier,” the Minister stated at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Friday.

These inputs were obtained by the Minister and his team following a consultation with the KPK to discuss the procurement of goods and services at the Ministry of Social Affairs, particularly in the Sekolah Rakyat programme.

On the same occasion, KPK Deputy Chairman Ibnu Basuki Widodo thanked the Social Affairs Minister, Deputy Minister, and the team for their openness to the anti-corruption agency regarding the procurement of goods and services at the Ministry of Social Affairs.

“In this way, it is hoped that we can prevent criminal acts of corruption as early as possible,” Ibnu said.

Nevertheless, he stated that if any deviations are found in the future in the procurement of goods and services at the Ministry of Social Affairs, especially for the Sekolah Rakyat programme, the KPK would be open to handling them.

Previously, on 6 May 2026, Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf had stated his intention to meet with KPK leaders to obtain inputs on the procurement of goods and services for the Sekolah Rakyat programme.

According to the Minister, in the meeting with the KPK, all data and processes related to the procurement of goods for the operations of Sekolah Rakyat would be presented, including the procurement of shoes for Sekolah Rakyat students, which had recently become a topic of discussion on social media.

The Minister said the meeting was scheduled for 7 May 2026. However, the meeting took place on 8 May 2026.
