Social Affairs Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf, also known as Gus Ipul, has stated that the government is opening opportunities for data updating for members of the public who feel their decile data does not match their actual conditions, whether due to inclusion errors or exclusion errors.

“So we ask the public, if for example you find beneficiaries or people who are not eligible to receive assistance, or people who are actually eligible to receive it but are excluded, we can fix that immediately,” said Gus Ipul in his statement on Tuesday (1/9/2026).

He made this statement after attending a Working Meeting with Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday evening (31/8).

Gus Ipul explained that the public can submit data updates through the channels that have been provided. This can be done either through formal channels starting from deliberations at the RT/RW level, then to the sub-district/village, and forwarded to the Social Service using the SIKS-NG application, or through participatory channels such as the Cek Bansos application, Call Centre, or WhatsApp Centre.

“We open the channels via WhatsApp, we open them via the command centre, we open them via the Cek Bansos application, we open them via villages with the SIKS-NG application, where there are village data operators, and now there is also the digitalisation of social assistance,” he said.

Furthermore, Gus Ipul revealed that these channels are the government’s effort to be open, by not concealing data and opening public participation to carry out updates.

“So if there are complaints, every time there are facts on the ground, we immediately follow up, we immediately update,” he added.

Gus Ipul also expressed appreciation to members of the public who have submitted complaints and participated in the data updating process.

“So we certainly appreciate that and we are open to carrying out updates. God willing, our data will become more accurate,” said Gus Ipul.

According to him, the updating process is important to make the data increasingly accurate, considering that data is dynamic because every day there are citizens who die, are born, move residence, and marry, as well as citizens who move up or down in class.

“This (updating) is important, because data determines whether our programmes are on target, whether our programmes reach those who are entitled,” he explained.

For information, the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) is managed by Statistics Indonesia (BPS). The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), together with regional governments, assists in updating the data through the channels previously mentioned.

“The first principle is that the government wants to be open. The government, under the direction of President Prabowo, wants to involve the entire community so that we obtain accurate data. With the existence of a single data manager, namely BPS, this makes it easier for us to consolidate,” he concluded.
