Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) together with the Minister of Home Affairs and simultaneously Chairman of the Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force (PRR) Tito Karnavian distributed aid worth Rp 241,616,150,000. The aid was provided to assist the victims of the hydrometeorological disaster at the MTQ Building in Pidie Jaya Regency.

The assistance was distributed as part of expediting the recovery of affected residents. The breakdown includes social and economic stimulus assistance (BSSE) for 18,839 households amounting to Rp 94,195,000,000, living allowances (jadup) for 66,629 people amounting to Rp 89,949,150,000, and temporary housing contents assistance (huntara) for 18,839 households amounting to Rp 56,517,000,000.

In addition, Kemensos also distributed funeral allowances to 56 bereaved families amounting to Rp 840,000,000, and compensation for 23 injured victims amounting to Rp 115,000,000.

Tito Karnavian said the government had previously delivered aid for house repairs with light and moderate damages in two waves through BNPB.

“Alhamdulillah today we have handed over aid for individual disaster victims (in Pidie Jaya). We have already provided aid for the qualification of house damage, the light and moderate categories, which have already been provided by BNPB in two simultaneous waves,” he said in a written statement on Friday (6 March 2026).

He explained that the aid disbursed is direct assistance to individual disaster victims to help meet basic needs and the family’s economic recovery.

The aid includes jadup of Rp450,000 per person for three months, channelled by Kemensos. In addition, the government also provides a housing contents allowance of Rp3 million and an economic stimulus allowance of Rp5 million per household.

“The total across Sumatra is almost Rp900 billion. Alhamdulillah it has already been executed and realised by the Minister of Social Affairs on the President’s orders. The President’s directive is to provide it as quickly as possible,” he said.

Additionally, Gus Ipul stressed that the distribution of aid was the result of collaboration among various government levels up to the village level, based on valid and tiered data.

According to him, the recipient data collection process involved village heads, RT/RW, the TNI-Polri, community leaders, the Head of the State Prosecutor’s Office and the Polres. It was then forwarded to the provincial government up to the Minister of Home Affairs as Chair of the PRR Task Force.

“Up to the Minister of Home Affairs, who coordinates all directives from the President. After reviewing the data, the Minister signs. The signed data is what is referred to as verified and valid data,” he explained.

He added that before being designated as verified data, recipient data first undergoes checks by BPS and Dukcapil.

In addition to social assistance, the government is also distributing other support, including infrastructure assistance and various recovery programs currently in progress.

“We invite everyone to monitor, oversee, and reinforce. There may still be shortcomings. But the President’s extraordinary attention in handling this disaster is something we truly feel. All the support is extraordinary,” Gus Ipul said.

He hopes that with the government’s efforts in addressing the disaster in Aceh, the situation can recover soon.

“Therefore we hope this becomes an integral part of the recovery process, and Aceh will later return to being whole, and even better than before,” he concluded.

Present at the event were Acting President Director of PT Pos Indonesia Haris, Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhlullah, Pidie Jaya Regent Sibral Malasyi, and Pidie Jaya Deputy Regent Hasan Basri. Also in attendance were senior and junior officials from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Home Affairs, PT Pos Indonesia, and representatives of the Aceh and Pidie Jaya administrations.
