“We came to Pemalang to carry out the President’s mandate so that our brothers and sisters who have been unreachable can be reached, and they can feel the presence of the state,” said Agus Jabo in a statement on Monday (18/5/2026).

Agus Jabo also called on all parties to strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) to assist communities facing social issues. He emphasised that the government must not remain idle while seeing people live in difficulty, noting that various presidential priority programmes are being implemented to assist those previously untouched by government services.

“Today, the Ministry of Social Affairs, together with the Pemalang Regency Government, is proving the President’s command that we are fighting so that the people of Pemalang can smile,” added Agus Jabo.

The Regent of Pemalang, Anom Widyantoro, expressed his gratitude for the Ministry of Social Affairs’ assistance, noting that the ministry’s presence is tangible in the regency. He also expressed full support for the ‘Sekolah Rakyat’ (People’s School) programme, a government priority. He noted that preparations for the development of a school in Banjarmulya Village, covering 9.4 hectares, have been planned seriously.

In addition to financial aid and empowerment programmes, the Ministry of Social Affairs also distributed ATENSI packages containing basic necessities for the elderly, disability aids, hearing aids, wheelchairs, tricycles, children’s bicycles, and business assistance such as sewing machines for vulnerable groups. Symbolically, Agus Jabo and Anom Widyantoro presented the aid to representatives of the elderly, hearing-impaired, children, and vulnerable community clusters.
