Soccer-Portugal football chiefs to aid fan rescued after tsunami

LISBON: A seven-year-old tsunami victim rescued wearing a
Portuguese national team jersey has been promised help by the
Portuguese soccer federation, the body said on Monday.

The boy, Martunis, was rescued from an isolated beach in
Indonesia's Banda Aceh last Saturday having been spotted by a
British television team after surviving for 19 days there.

Martunis was found wearing the red-and-green jersey of the
Portuguese national side. Federation chief Gilberto Madail
decided to help the boy after his story was reported in
Portuguese media, Diario de Noticias newspaper said.
