SNPMB Committee Responds to Participants' Complaints Regarding UTBK 2026 Location

The General Chairman of the National Student Admission Selection (SNPMB), Eduart Wolo, has responded to complaints from participants regarding the location of the Computer-Based Written Exam for the National Selection Based on Test (UTBK-SNBT) 2026. Participants this year cannot choose the organising university campus for the UTBK.

Eduart stated that the committee is only limiting participants from selecting the UTBK organising campus. However, it is not restricting the choice of city or region for the exam.

“For example, if I choose UTS Surabaya but I am from Gorontalo, when I select Gorontalo, I will take the UTBK at Gorontalo University,” he said during a press conference at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology office in Jakarta on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.

The committee will announce the UTBK location ten days before the exam takes place. According to him, this change in the location mechanism is to anticipate cheating similar to that in previous years. The committee found many anomalous cheating methods from registration to implementation. “There are also test proxies,” he said.

He claimed that the committee is not trying to hinder participants’ rights to access university education. “We are actually creating a fair system,” he said.

Registration for UTBK-SNBT 2026 officially opened on 25 March to 7 April 2026 through the official SNPMB portal. Participants are required to have a permanent SNPMB account, pay a fee of Rp200,000, and can select up to four study programmes. The exam will be held from 21 to 30 April 2026.
