SMPIT NFBS Bogor's TKA Results Exceed West Java and National Averages
The results of this year’s Academic Ability Test (TKA) showed encouraging achievements for SMPIT Nurul Fikri Boarding School (NFBS) Bogor. Students’ average scores in Indonesian and Mathematics were above both West Java and national averages. In Indonesian, the school’s average score was 81.71, significantly higher than the West Java average of 61.26 and national average of 60.83. In Mathematics, students achieved an average of 57.58, surpassing West Java’s 39.87 and the national average of 40.34. Overall, the school’s TKA average was 69.64. Ustadzah Diyah Asri Lestari, the Mathematics teacher and TKA coach, stated that the results reflect the school’s coaching process meeting expectations. ‘We are grateful for the students’ excellent results. What brings the most joy is not just the scores, but their dedication throughout the learning and TKA preparation process,’ she said in an official statement on Monday, 1 June. According to Ustadzah Diyah, TKA preparation was carried out progressively and continuously, not just focusing on last-minute study. Preparation began from the start of the semester through coaching integrated into regular lessons. The programme was followed by four periodic mock tests. Based on the mock test results, teachers could assess students’ abilities and identify areas needing reinforcement before the TKA. In the lead-up to the TKA, the school also conducted TKA dress rehearsals to acclimatise students to real exam conditions. Support continued during holidays through online preparatory classes. Annisa Hafitasari, the school’s Curriculum Deputy Head, explained that the entire programme was structured according to the TKA syllabus to provide students with more focused learning experiences. ‘Through subject reviews, problem drills, and mock tests aligned with the Ministry of Education’s syllabus, we aim to ensure students have a strong understanding and optimal readiness for the TKA,’ she said. This achievement also reflects the implementation of Nurul Fikri’s Learner Profile, which emphasises a balance between academic achievement, character, independence, and life skills. Through this approach, NFBS Bogor continues to provide education relevant to future challenges while contributing to the improvement of Indonesia’s education quality. (H-2) The TKA results highlight the importance of strengthening reasoning and problem-solving skills, particularly in Mathematics. The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has revised the scheme for the 2026 Academic Ability Test (TKA) for senior high schools, vocational schools, and madrasahs. The results of the 2026 Academic Ability Test, announced on Tuesday, 26 May, revealed significant disparities in literacy and numeracy skills among primary and secondary school students across Indonesia.
