SMP Labschool Kebayoran Wins Two Gold Medals at iWiSE Global Final 2026 in Dubai
SMP Labschool Kebayoran brought home two gold medals from the International World Innovative Student Exhibition (iWiSE) Global Final 2026. The competition featured representatives from 16 countries, including Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Kosovo, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Tajikistan, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.
SMP Labschool Kebayoran represented Indonesia at the event. The school sent eight students who competed in two groups at the international competition — the STEM category and the Creative Writing and Talent (singing) categories.
“I am proud and deeply grateful that the students undertook a rigorous process, from preparing their materials and practising to answering all the judges’ questions well,” said the Head of SMP Labschool Kebayoran, Yulinda Asnita, on Monday (23/2/2026).
The iWiSE Global Final 2026 Dubai took place from 14 to 16 February 2026 at the Conference Hall of the University of Bradford Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In the STEM category, the gold medal was won by a team comprising Fajriah Chairunisa Nugroho, Raisha Allya Fahrudin, and Qaniah Balqis Salsabila Alfaruk. The second gold medal was secured by Deandra Aleesha Annaylabella in the Creative Writing category.
Deandra also achieved third place in the English category. Further accolades included a silver medal in the STEM category, won by Sophie Hisani Aminata, Nailaputri Maulida Setyawan, and Ahsani Malika Kusumanegara. Almira Asha Nandi earned a bronze medal in the Talent singing category.
“This event provides students with a global perspective, enabling them to interact and share research experiences with students from other countries, as well as compete at the international level,” said Yulinda.
Meanwhile, accompanying teacher Sawitri Chyian Nisari described iWiSE as a platform for cross-cultural learning for students. Teachers from various countries also had the opportunity to interact with one another.
SMP Labschool Kebayoran has now participated in this inter-school competition three times. Previously, the school took part in similar competitions in 2025 in Boston, United States, and in the United Kingdom.
“This success further affirms the school’s commitment to encouraging student achievement at the global level,” said Sawitri.
