Smoothness and Safety Key to 85.3 Percent Public Satisfaction with 2026 Eid Exodus Implementation
Jakarta, VIVA – Survey results show that public satisfaction with the services for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming reached 85.3 percent. This figure reflects high appreciation from travellers for the performance of the government and police in managing this year’s homecoming and return traffic flows.
Transportation expert Darmaningtyas explains that the success of this year’s homecoming can be measured by two main indicators: smoothness and journey safety.
“In the homecoming, there are two indicators: one regarding smoothness, and the second on safety aspects. With the one-way system for travellers and during the return flow, it certainly makes the journey smooth. The safety aspect is something we always hope for during homecoming, namely a reduction in traffic accidents, whether minor or severe injuries or fatalities,” said Darmaningtyas on Thursday, 9 April 2026.
Both indicators are deemed to have been achieved in this year’s homecoming organisation, so it is understandable that the public gives a high rating.
“Those two indicators were actually achieved this year, so it is reasonable that homecoming travellers appreciate it by giving a fairly high rating to traffic performance in the 2026 Eid homecoming transport organisation, both during the outbound and return flows. I think that forms the basis for citizens’ assessment of the Ketupat operation policies during the 2026 Eid homecoming,” added Darmaningtyas.
According to him, the high public appreciation is inseparable from coordination and collaboration among various parties, including in disseminating information and utilising technology.
“The high appreciation from the public is inseparable from coordination and collaboration among various parties in organising the Eid homecoming, including communicating regulations related to homecoming, and of course supported by good technology, especially from Jasa Marga’s command centre which can monitor traffic density, so the police can determine traffic engineering policies, whether contraflow or one-way,” he explained.
He emphasised that synergy among institutions is the main key to the success of this year’s homecoming organisation.
“Synergy, coordination, and collaboration among various parties that drive or realise a smooth and safe Eid homecoming transport organisation,” he continued.
Nevertheless, from the comfort perspective, there are still several notes, particularly regarding density at rest areas. This is deemed understandable, given the on-the-ground situation.
