Smog from Forest Fires Engulfs Residential Areas in Kubu Raya
Smog from forest and land fires has enveloped residential areas in Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. Although the spread of flames to housing complexes has been successfully prevented, residents are still facing worsening air quality due to the fires, which have been burning for almost two weeks. Joint firefighting teams from the government and private sector continue to battle the blazes, which have consumed over 10 hectares of land behind the Arwana Indah Complex in Arang Limbung Village, Sungai Raya District. Officials are urging the public to limit outdoor activities and use respiratory protection while the haze persists.
