SMI Acquisition Plan: KDTN Prepares Business Change
PT Puri Sentul Permai Tbk (KDTN) is planning to change its business activities in conjunction with the planned takeover of PT Sherman Mineral Indonesia (SMI) by a new prospective controller through KDTN. KDTN Director, Irene Nursalim, stated that the company will align its business activities with the new prospective controller’s business strategy. “The company will operate exclusively as a holding company, while operational business activities will be conducted through its subsidiaries,” she said in a disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange, quoted on Thursday, 14 May 2026. Irene explained that the SMI acquisition transaction is part of the company’s business expansion plan, which aligns with the new prospective controller’s business strategy. She revealed that the new prospective controller’s corporate group operates in the investment sector, focusing on mining support activities. In this regard, SMI itself is a company engaged in mining support activities and other excavation activities. “Repair and maintenance of cars and motorcycles, so the acquisition of SMI by the Company is in line with the new prospective controller’s investment focus and business portfolio in the mining sector,” Irene stated. Irene expressed optimism that this change in business activities will bring benefits in the form of improved performance and profitability, supporting long-term growth, and adding value to the Company and its shareholders. “Based on the business feasibility study prepared by an independent appraiser as presented in the feasibility study summary chapter, the change in the company’s business activities is estimated to provide a positive contribution to the Company’s financial performance, particularly in the form of increased business revenue in the future,” Irene explained. With this change and the implementation of the business activities, Irene views that KDTN’s revenue and net profit (loss) are projected to experience gradual growth. “Thus, it is hoped that in turn, it can strengthen the Company’s capital structure and increase its equity in the following years,” she concluded.
