SMESCO Indonesia and HIPMI Central Jakarta Hold Local Market Event to Empower SMEs
SMESCO Indonesia collaborated with the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) Central Jakarta to organise Raya Local Market Vol. 1, which took place 26-28 February 2026 at SMESCO Exhibition Hall Jakarta. The event featured 62 curated SME tenants representing more than 150 local brands and targeted urban Muslim consumers, young people, communities, and reseller networks.
Beyond transaction activities through promotional programmes such as flash sales with discounts up to 80 per cent and the “Everything for 100,000 Rupiah” campaign, Raya Local Market also conducted more than 20 educational and activation sessions, including business talks, seminars, digital branding reinforcement, and modest wear fashion shows.
SMESCO Indonesia Chief Executive Doddy Akhmadsyah Matondang stated that Raya Local Market was designed as a collaborative platform connecting SMEs with broader business networks. “Raya Local Market becomes a collaborative space that encourages SMEs not only to sell but also strengthen capacity, build networks, and expand market access sustainably,” he said.
The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) also expressed support through Deputy for Small Business Temmy Satya Permana. “The export value of the creative economy in 2025 reached approximately 200 trillion rupiah and grew 1.4 per cent compared to the previous year. This momentum needs to be strengthened through expanded market access and increased value addition of SME products,” said Temmy.
HIPMI Jakarta General Chairman Muhammad Riandy Haroen also emphasised the importance of cross-sector synergy. “Collaboration between SMESCO, the UMKM Ministry, and HIPMI is a concrete step in promoting SME advancement. Business operators’ challenges cannot be resolved alone but through sustained joint efforts,” he said.
HIPMI Central Jakarta General Chairman Teguh Agung Hartanto added that strengthening SMEs must be realised through concrete action in the field. “The synergy built today must continue into concrete programmes that enable SMEs to be better prepared to compete, both in national and global markets. HIPMI Central Jakarta is committed to continuing to oversee this process,” Teguh stated firmly.
Raya Local Market Vol. 1 Committee Chair Muhammad Fadil Daffa Usamah noted that the event demonstrated that when entrepreneur organisations meet the right partners, such as SMESCO, they can jointly create economic impact for local SMEs. “Hopefully, this will become an annual event that can accommodate local SMEs to advance,” said Muhammad Fadil.
Through organising Raya Local Market Vol. 1, SMESCO Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to continuously presenting strategic programmes that strengthen capacity, networks, and the position of local products in domestic and international markets.
