JAKARTA — Small, micro, and medium-sized enterprise (SME) operators are being encouraged to utilise financial technology to manage transactions and finances more efficiently during the Ramadan season and leading up to Idul Fitri.

The adoption of technology is valued for its ability to help business operators capture increased demand whilst strengthening product competitiveness in the market.

This initiative was announced through an educational talk show titled Pintar Bareng, organised by GoPay and MOKA in collaboration with PLN’s Jakarta Greater Distribution Unit through the Jakarta Greater SME Hub.

Through the GoPay Merchant application and MOKA’s digital point-of-sale system, SME operators can manage sales, inventory, and financial reports in real-time.

General Manager of PLN’s Jakarta Greater Distribution Unit, Moch. Andy Adchaminoerdin, stated that Ramadan represents a strategic period for SMEs to enhance business performance. The typically increased market demand during this period creates opportunities for business operators to expand their market reach.

According to him, strengthening operator capacity through training and education is crucial in enabling SMEs to capitalise on these opportunities optimally.

This educational programme, jointly conducted with GoPay and MOKA, forms part of PLN’s efforts through the Jakarta Greater SME Hub to support business operators in improving the quality of business management, including through the use of digital technology.

During the activity, SME operators were introduced to various financial technology features that can assist in transaction recording and financial management in a more systematic manner. The technology aids transaction recording, inventory management, and automatic financial report compilation.

Through this digital system, business operators can monitor sales developments more quickly and accurately, including when transaction increases occur during Ramadan and approaching Idul Fitri.

Head of GoPay Merchants, Haryanto Tanjo, noted that Ramadan represents an important period for SME operators because public economic activity typically increases.
