JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SMCB) recorded a net profit of Rp 101.89 billion in the first quarter of 2026, up 111.3% from the same period in 2025, which stood at Rp 48.22 billion.

This achievement was attained amid signs of recovery in the cement industry.

Although the domestic cement industry’s utilisation rate remains around 53.9% compared to a total capacity of 124 million tonnes.

SMCB President Director Rizki Kresno Edhie Hambali stated that this performance reflects the effectiveness of the consistent transformation strategy implemented to maintain growth and profitability amid national industry dynamics.

“The performance growth in Q1 2026 marks a good start for Solusi Bangun Indonesia in sustaining business momentum.

We will continue to focus on healthy growth, operational efficiency, and innovation to create added value for customers, shareholders, and all stakeholders,” said Rizki Kresno Edhie Hambali in a press statement on Friday (1/5/2026).

In the first three months of this year, SMCB booked cement and clinker sales volume of 2.92 million tonnes, an increase of 1.4% from the same period the previous year.

This sales growth propelled the company’s revenue to Rp 2.56 trillion, or a 3.6% year-on-year (YoY) increase. EBITDA reached Rp 358 billion, up 14.3% from 2025.

On the operational side, the company optimised production and energy efficiency, including increased use of alternative fuels, as part of efforts to promote more sustainable operations.

One impact of these initiatives is the receipt of Green Label certificates with Platinum predicate for the Lhoknga Plant in Aceh, Narogong Plant in West Java, and Cilacap Plant in Central Java, as well as a Green Label certificate with Gold predicate for the Tuban Plant in East Java.

The All Indonesia Cement Association (Aperssi) projects domestic cement sales to rise by around 1-2% in 2026.

In line with this target, Rizki Kresno Edhie is optimistic that the company can continue the business growth trend.

In addition to optimising marketing and sales management and enhancing operational excellence, SMCB is also preparing expansion steps through exports from the Tuban dock and production facilities in East Java.

With the completion of the integrated dock and loading facility development project, the company will soon commence exports to the United States (US) market. This capability enhancement is believed to open access to new markets beyond domestic demand, while boosting plant utilisation and creating more stable new revenue sources.

“This is a progressive step that not only expands markets and increases utility but also strengthens the company’s global competitiveness and drives sustainable growth,” he concluded.

In 2026, SMCB also contributes to several strategic projects, including the improvement of the Pejagan-Pemalang Toll Road using fast-track concrete technology that allows completion in just three days.

Additionally, the company is involved in the construction of Southeast Asia’s largest electric vehicle assembly plant in Subang, West Java, as part of strengthening the regional manufacturing sector.
