Smart construction solution for tunnel development launched in China

Beijing (ANTARA) - China Railway Group Limited has announced that China is introducing a smart construction solution for tunnels built using the drill-and-blast method, marking the beginning of an era of intelligent construction for tunnel development in the country.

China Railway Tunnel Group, the primary developer of the solution, stated that the system focuses on smart construction scenarios for tunnels and underground projects. It builds an intelligent construction system that integrates field sensors, edge computing, and cloud-based decision-making.

This solution enables intelligent operation across various construction processes, coordinated project management, and rapid decision-making across various corporate systems, according to the company.

The smart construction solution is currently being implemented in several projects, including the Changsha-Ganzhou high-speed railway, serving as a replicable model for smart construction innovation in the field of tunnel and underground engineering.

China Railway Tunnel Group noted that with the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, the tunnel engineering industry is undergoing a digital and intelligent transformation.

The company added that it will continue to accelerate digital and intelligent transformation within the field of tunnel and underground engineering.
