SMAN 2 South Tangerang Clinches Banten Title, Heads to MPR RI LKBB-PB National Finals
State Senior High School 2 South Tangerang has achieved a praiseworthy victory. The school, commonly known as “Moonzher”, clinched first place in the MPR RI’s Provincial Banten 2026 Marching and Flag Hoisting Creativity Competition (LKBB-PB).
This resounding victory automatically secures SMAN 2 South Tangerang’s place as Banten’s official representative. They will compete in the MPR RI’s 2026 National Finals of the LKBB-PB competition, scheduled to take place in Jakarta next August.
In a tightly contested competition, the Moonzher squad topped the standings with an impressive 6,020 points. Second place went to State Senior High School 2 Serang City with 5,880 points, followed by State Islamic Senior High School 1 Lebak Regency in third with 5,870 points.
Ibnu Itsnaini Syahril Muharram, coach of SMAN 2 South Tangerang’s LKBB-PB team, expressed immense pride in his students’ determination and hard work.
“Alhamdulillah, we are overjoyed. Especially now that South Tangerang’s representatives can compete at the national level on behalf of Banten Province. May we bring further honour to Banten. We hope the students remain consistent and deliver their best for the region,” Ibnu stated on Sunday (31 May 2026).
Ibnu added that this strong performance stems from prolonged training and team cohesion. With national competitors being provincial champions, the team is committed to intensifying preparations.
“We will maintain regular training once the national event date is confirmed. Given our experience from last year, we will prepare as thoroughly as possible. Hopefully, the students maintain their physical fitness and are ready for the competition,” he added.
Alvian Christian Larosa, team captain of SMAN 2 South Tangerang, also expressed heartfelt pride. The Year 11 student recounted that reaching the podium required months of sacrifice and strict discipline.
“Initially, when entering the provincial finals, we were nervous. We had to position ourselves precisely, stay focused, and work cohesively. The preparation was lengthy; for two months we’ve trained at school, covering marching techniques, formation changes, and physical conditioning,” Alvian explained.
Alvian is well aware that national-level competition will be significantly more intense, facing the best teams across Indonesia. However, he has chosen to view the challenge as a motivational boost.
“It’s tough because it’s a national competition. Preparations must be even more thorough. We need to intensify training for the national stage. Most importantly, never lose heart and keep dreaming as high as possible,” he said optimistically.
A Platform for Instilling Discipline
The MPR RI’s LKBB-PB competition is designed as a strategic medium to instil discipline, leadership, mutual cooperation, and nationalist spirit among youth. The prestigious provincial competition featured 10 selected schools from across Banten, including areas of Tangerang, Serang, Cilegon, Lebak, and Pandeglang.
Officials present included Heri Herawan, SH, Deputy for Administration of the MPR RI Secretariat, Agus Subagyo, Chief of the Secretariat of the MPR RI Leadership Bureau, and South Tangerang City Deputy Mayor Pilar Saga Ichsan. The event was also overseen by officials from PPI Central, PPI Banten Province, PPI South Tangerang City, Banten’s Kesbangpol Agency, the Youth and Sports Department (Dispora), the Education and Culture Department (Disdikbud), and a judging panel comprising military personnel.
