SMAN 2 Sidrap Secures Top Score, Advances to National LKBB-PB MPR Final
In the competition, SMAN 2 Sidrap emerged victorious with a total score of 7,890 points. Second place went to SMAN 1 Tana Toraja with 7,095 points, while SMAN 1 Jeneponto secured third with 6,970 points. As a result, SMAN 2 Sidrap will represent South Sulawesi Province at the National Final of LKBB-PB MPR RI, to be held at the MPR Building in Jakarta in August 2026.
The judging panel consisted of three evaluators from TNI, Polri, and Purna Paskibraka Indonesia (PPI). SMAN 2 Sidrap’s team commander, Muh Yusuf S, expressed pride in the team’s provincial victory. “I am proud that our school has won the provincial championship and will represent South Sulawesi at the national final in the MPR Building in Jakarta. We will strive to give our best and win the national championship,” he stated in a written statement on Sunday, 24 May 2026.
Meanwhile, Fitriani, the supervising teacher and head of Pagnosa 467 UPT SMAN 2 Sidrap, said the achievement was a great source of pride for the school. “This is a major achievement for us. Especially as we will represent the province at the national final. But I stress to the students not to become arrogant and to continue training and improving,” Fitriani said.
Ten high schools from across South Sulawesi participated in the competition, including SMAN 12 Luwu, SMAN 1 Jeneponto, SMAN 1 Maros, SMAN 1 Pangkep, SMAN 2 Sidenreng Rappang, SMAN 13 Bone, SMAN 7 Wajo, MAN 1 Kota Parepare, SMAN 1 Tana Toraja, and SMAN 10 Gowa. Each school sent a team of 12 members plus a commander, with ten minutes to showcase drill skills, flag-raising techniques, and formation creativity before the judges.
Also in attendance were Heri Herawan, Deputy for Administration of the MPR RI Secretariat General, alongside MPR RI Secretariat General officials, Sidenreng Rappang Regent’s Secretary Andi Rahmat Saleh, Sidrap Regency’s Forkopimda members, representatives from Kodim 1420 Sidrap Regency, Polres Sidrap, Sidrap Regency government administrators and senior officials, Kesbangpol Sidrap’s M. Arso, South Sulawesi Purna Paskibraka Indonesia Chairman Patriadi, and all supervisory and judging panel members.
