SMAN 112 Alumni Donate 30 Grande Fire Extinguishers and Renovate Mosque After Fire in Surrounding Area

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Concerns about fire risk in the school environment have spurred SMAN 112 Jakarta alumni, who is also a fire-extinguisher entrepreneur, to channel aid to their alma mater.

The assistance comprises 30 units of Grande portable fire extinguishers (APAR), renovations to the worship facilities, student financial assistance, and updates to several school facilities.

The assistance was provided after the area around SMAN 112 Jakarta was hit by a fire on 7 March 2023.

Several buildings in the vicinity were reported to have been burnt, and the blaze briefly touched the school’s perimeter walls.

Head of SMAN 112 Jakarta, Sukarman, said that the alumni assistance has been ongoing for roughly the past five months. The school has received help from a 2004 alumnus, Agung Budhy Hambaka.

“He has been helping us for about the last five months, with the aid including painting the field, providing APAR Grande, and most recently the renovation of the mosque canopy covering about 210 square metres,” Sukarman said in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (20/5/2026).

He praised the alumni’s concern for the school where Agung studied. All the works were fully assisted by him. The school is grateful for his concern for the school.

According to Sukarman, the availability of APAR Grande is very important given that Jakarta is a fire-prone area.

“APAR Grande is very much needed by us; Jakarta is a fire-prone area, and in 2023, in addition to SMAN 112, there was also a fire that touched our school’s wall area,” Sukarman said.
