SMAN 1 Polewali has emerged as the champion of the 2026 MPR RI Four Pillars Quiz Competition (LCC) at the West Sulawesi provincial level, earning the right to represent the province at the national competition. The announcement was made by the Inspector of the MPR RI Secretariat General and head of the jury, Anies Mayangsari Muninggar. “Group A from SMAN 1 Sarjo scored 105 points, Group B from SMAN 1 Bambalamutu scored 60 points, and Group C from SMAN 1 Polewali scored 195 points. Therefore, Group C from SMAN 1 Polewali is declared the winner of the West Sulawesi provincial level LCC Empat Pilar MPR RI and will proceed to the national level,” she stated.

Earlier, MPR RI member Ismail Bachtiar officially opened the competition. He praised all participants for their efforts in advancing from the district level to the provincial stage. “All participants here today are champions. You have gone through a long selection process. Whatever the result, you return home as winners,” he said. Ismail emphasised that the competition is a strategic tool for the MPR RI to instil a comprehensive understanding of the Four Pillars—Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika—in the younger generation, aiming to build a generation with strong national insight and character.

Echoing this sentiment, the Head of the West Sulawesi Education and Culture Office, Muhammad Nehru Sagena, stated that the competition is not solely about achievement but also serves as a platform for character building and strengthening national values. “The competition does not end with who becomes the champion, but how the children can understand, practice, analyse, and even create works beneficial to the nation,” he said. He expressed hope that the participants would become an innovative generation making real contributions to Indonesia’s progress, even aspiring to become Nobel laureates.

The victory for SMAN 1 Polewali was the result of consistent coaching over approximately nine months. The team’s supervising teacher, Fahmi Hasbullah, revealed that preparations began in September 2025, focusing on deepening the team’s understanding of the Four Pillars, particularly the articles of the 1945 Constitution and MPR Decrees. Fahmi, an alumnus of the 2016 LCC Empat Pilar, used his experience to guide the team, which also studied footage of competitions from other provinces to evaluate and formulate strategies. Najwa Putrirannu, a member of the winning team, expressed gratitude for the achievement, attributing it to hard work and disciplined training. She hopes the success will motivate the team to deliver their best performance at the national level and bring honour to West Sulawesi. The provincial competition was attended by nine senior high schools from various districts in West Sulawesi, with a jury comprising officials from the MPR Secretariat General, the provincial education office, and academia.
