Smailing Tour gets award

JAKARTA (JP): The Asian Business Press Group, the publisher of
several travel magazines such as the Travel Trade Gazette, has
selected Smailing Tour as the best inbound tour operator in
Indonesia.

Smailing Tour's President Rudy Akili said yesterday the Travel
Awards were conducted got travel-related companies during the
PATA Mart '95 in Sydney which ended on Sunday.

"The selection was made by a panel of judges which comprised
executives of hotels, airlines and several other travel-related
companies on the basis of performances in organizing the various
components of package tours," Rudy added.

He said his company handled 18,000 inbound tourists mostly
from Europe and 5,000 outbound tourists last year.

Rudy added the award was a boon for his company to further
step up its inbound tour promotion and to create new kinds of
tour programs.

"For example, we are now promoting exclusive tour programs for
resident expatriates in the country and are preparing package
tours for school children and students during the coming school
holidays in June and July," he said. (vin)
