Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — PT SMPlus Digital Investama (SM+) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Princeton Digital Group’s (PDG) enterprise data centre business in Indonesia.

The business being acquired includes five high-quality operational data centre facilities located in several major Indonesian urban areas: Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya and Pekanbaru.

SM+ Holdings President Director and Group CEO Herson Suindah said the acquisition was an important step in SM+’s strategy to strengthen and expand its digital infrastructure platform in Indonesia, a market experiencing rapid growth in data consumption, cloud adoption and corporate digital transformation. The transaction will bring SM+’s total operations to 31 facilities across 25 cities in Indonesia.

“This acquisition is an important milestone in our journey to build Indonesia’s leading national digital infrastructure platform. With the addition of five facilities in Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya and Pekanbaru, we are extending our national reach and strengthening our ability to serve customers, while remaining committed to supporting Indonesia’s digital economy,” Herson said in an official statement on Thursday (15 October 2026).

Herson said integrating the newly acquired business into SM+’s existing platform would enable the company to improve service quality, support future growth opportunities and continue driving Indonesia’s digital transformation by providing reliable, scalable digital infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Princeton Digital Group Chief Operating Officer and co-founder Varoon Raghavan said Indonesia had been a key market for PDG since 2019.

“We acquired these enterprise-class facilities as part of our ‘enter-and-expand’ market-entry strategy, and have since grown our hyperscale data centre portfolio in the country to around 400 MW. Our focus will remain on developing that hyperscale portfolio, including the JC2, JC3 and JC4 campuses, where further expansion is under way, and on strengthening our leadership position in Indonesia,” he said.

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions. UBS AG Singapore Branch (UBS) is acting as SM+’s exclusive financial adviser on the deal.
