Jakarta — The presentation of ‘The Best Vessel’ awards for Quarter 1 2026 to vessels with the highest-performing crews—including SLM Josephine, SLM Apollo 2, SLM Artemis 2, Mitra Kencana 4, and SLM Apollo 5—is a strategic move by the company to appreciate the crews operating them, according to Faoli Zebua, Head of Crewing at Sinarmas LDA Usaha Pelabuhan (SLUP).

Sinarmas LDA Usaha Pelabuhan (SLUP) is a subsidiary of Sinarmas LDA Maritime Group (SLM). “We operate between 110 to 120 Indonesian-flagged vessels with a workforce of approximately 2,000 to 2,500 employees, and we have our own methods to ensure vessel operations continue to deliver peak performance. Based on the data we collect, we assess the best-performing vessels every quarter and present awards; this is essential to ensure crews continue to provide their best performance,” explained Faoli Zebua on Tuesday (2/6).

As a private shipping company and integrated logistics service provider operating throughout Indonesia, SLUP implements the ‘best vessel’ awards so that the professional performance standards of a specific vessel can serve as a benchmark for the company’s other 120 vessels. For 2026, SLUP is presenting awards to five vessels across four categories: self-propelled barge, liquid tug, liquid tug SSKI, and tug boat.

Sinarmas LDA Usaha Pelabuhan (SLUP) is part of Sinarmas LDA Maritime (SLM), a strategic joint venture between Indonesia’s Sinarmas Group and France’s Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (Pacemar). The company focuses on the transport of bulk cargo, including both dry and liquid bulk, as well as providing port operational services. Dry bulk includes coal transported via barges and cargo ships, while liquid bulk involves the shipment of vegetable oils, such as palm oil, and other liquid products. To support its operations, the company is supported by a fleet of 250 trucks, storage warehouses spanning 10,000 square metres, and liquid storage tanks with a capacity of 14,000 MT (Metric Ton).
