Sluggish hotel industry: Sudin Parekraf assists with promotion and training in West Jakarta
Jakarta - The Suku Dinas Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif (Sudin Parekraf) Jakarta Barat is undertaking various assistance efforts, from digital promotion to organising technical guidance (bimtek), to boost the declining hotel industry in 2026.
Head of the Hotel Industry Section of Sudin Parekraf Jakbar, Gun Gun Mujiantara, stated that his team has mobilised a social media team to create promotional videos for affiliated hotels and utilise the social media platforms of Sudin Parekraf and the City of Jakarta Barat for promotion.
“So, we have a social media team that we involve to create content promoting the hotels. We also collaborate with Sudin Kominfotik for promotion on the social media side (of the City of Jakarta Barat). Well, these hotels, especially the unique ones, are apparently enthusiastic,” said Gun Gun when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday.
Furthermore, Gun Gun’s side is maximising limited activity budgets by holding meetings or technical guidance (bimtek) events at hotels.
“Why do we choose hotels for certain activities? Because we do have a budget, although it’s limited, and the hotels also offer discounted prices, not at the regular rate, especially for our affiliated hotels. That’s one of the ways,” Gun Gun explained.
His side has also encouraged other Regional Work Units (UKPD) and even ministry institutions to boost the sluggish hotel industry in the same manner.
“But not all UKPD have activities at hotels. We have mentioned it to other UKPDs. As for the Ministry (of Tourism and Creative Economy), they often ask us for hotel references, so we provide them. They also have activities like bimtek at hotels,” Gun Gun said.
