JAKARTA: The Slovakian government has offered to extend its
military cooperation with its Indonesia, particularly in the
selling of military equipment.
"The Slovakian government wants greater military cooperation
with Indonesia," director general for defense strategy, Maj. Gen.
Sudradjat, said Tuesday.
Sudradjat noted that three years ago, Indonesia bought
amphibian tanks from Slovakia. The tanks need spare parts and
service, he said, adding that the Slovakian government has
expressed its readiness to assist its Indonesian counterpart
solve the problem.
Slovakia's military industry has a good reputation,
particularly its small- and medium-calibre arms, tanks and
ammunition, Sudradjat said.
The two governments are studying the possibility of extending
their cooperation on military industry to include a scheme to
produce weapons jointly. -- Antara
