Slippery LPG Thief Pursued by Residents from Dlingo to Giwangan

A thief who stole a 3-kilogram LPG cylinder in Dlingo, Bantul, was chased by residents all the way to Giwangan, Yogyakarta, in a dramatic pursuit captured on CCTV. The suspect, who was riding a green and white Suzuki Nex motorcycle, allegedly took the gas cylinder belonging to Timbul Budiyono, a 53-year-old resident of Koripan 2, Dlingo, Bantul, on Tuesday afternoon. After his actions were discovered, residents who recognised the suspect from previous thefts in the area immediately gave chase. The pursuit began on Jalan Imogiri-Dlingo, where a resident managed to sideswipe the suspect’s motorcycle, causing him to fall and drop the stolen cylinder. However, the thief quickly got back on his bike and continued his escape, eventually evading capture in the Giwangan area of Yogyakarta. Police are now investigating the incident and have recovered a Samsung A13 smartphone believed to belong to the suspect in Pencil Hamlet, Mangunan Village. Authorities are urging the public to report any information about the suspect’s identity but have cautioned against taking dangerous actions during such pursuits.
