Sleman's KDMP Tamanmartani Supplies Goods to Local Grocery Stalls Through Partnership Scheme
The Tamanmartani Village Cooperative (KDMP) in Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, is not only acting as a distributor of subsidised goods but also as a supplier of staple commodities to local grocery stalls through a partnership scheme. KDMP Tamanmartani manager Prima Shintalia stated that the cooperative is building cooperation with stall owners so that its presence can strengthen community businesses. “If we can, we should help each other. We work together with our grocery stall friends, not compete,” Prima said when met by ANTARA at the Ministry of Cooperatives office in Jakarta on Thursday. According to Prima, the cooperative strives to obtain goods at competitive prices in order to supply the needs of grocery stalls while also providing profits for the traders. “That’s why we have to look for cheap goods. If possible, we buy below wholesale prices, so that our grocery stall friends can also get supplies from us,” she said. She noted that the cooperative currently sells a number of staple goods, including SPHP rice, cooking oil, and 3-kilogram LPG cylinders. These items are sold at prices below the highest retail price. She said the cooperative’s procurement of goods is currently dominated by supplies from state-owned enterprises, particularly for rice and cooking oil. However, the cooperative is also seeking supplies from other parties at equally competitive prices. “Goods from state-owned enterprises are indeed cheap, but so far only oil and rice. We look for other items elsewhere to get better prices,” she said. In addition to partnering with grocery stalls, KDMP Tamanmartani has also established cooperation with Village-Owned Enterprises and various community business groups in its area. The cooperative has also become a supplier for five Nutritional Fulfilment Service Units supporting the Free Nutritious Meal programme. According to Prima, the goods supplied are not only foodstuffs such as chicken but also operational equipment, including dish soap, gloves, and other cleaning supplies. Currently, KDMP Tamanmartani, which began operations in July 2025, has 1,121 members and manages several business units, including a basic necessities shop, agricultural ventures, a clinic, a pharmacy, and fish farming. According to data from the Village/Subdistrict Cooperative Management Information System, by mid-July 2026 the transaction value of KDKMP in 2026 had reached approximately Rp56.77 billion from 54,128 transactions. The data shows that subsidised fertiliser is the commodity with the largest transaction value, with NPK Phonska fertiliser accounting for around Rp15.09 billion and Urea fertiliser around Rp11.27 billion.
