Sleman Regent Warns Village Heads to Study Village Land Regulations Following Corruption Suspect Naming
Sleman Regent Harda Kiswaya has reminded village heads to re-examine regulations concerning the utilisation of Village Treasury Land (TKD). This follows the naming of the Condongcatur Village Head, Reno Candra Sangaji, as a suspect in a corruption case involving TKD usage.
Harda explained that, as a preventative measure, he has instructed the Sleman Regency Land and Spatial Planning Office (Pertaru) to increase field visits. The objective is to remind village heads of the existing rules governing TKD utilisation.
“Therefore, I have requested the new Head of Department (Pertaru) to be more intensive in the field, explaining the understanding of these regulations,” Harda stated when contacted by journalists on Wednesday (3/6/2026).
Harda expressed his desire to prevent mismanagement of TKD that could lead to criminal proceedings. “Whether it is a regional regulation (Perda), a gubernatorial regulation (Pergub), or any other rule, it must be well understood so that in carrying out their duties, they do not misinterpret them,” he added.
Prior to Reno, several village heads and officials in Sleman had also been implicated in TKD corruption cases that led to legal action. In Depok District, three village heads from three different villages were all named suspects in TKD corruption.
Consequently, as an anticipatory step to ensure such incidents do not recur, Harda has instructed all village heads to study the relevant legislation, particularly Gubernatorial Regulation No. 24 of 2024, which governs TKD.
“I will continue to remind them; we must keep learning so that mastery of the legislation is truly understood by village heads. This is to ensure there are no errors in implementation or interpretation during execution,” said Harda.
Previously, the Condongcatur Village Head, Reno Candra Sangaji, was named a suspect in a corruption case involving the misuse of Village Treasury Land (TKD), with state losses exceeding Rp 1 billion. Although named a suspect, the police have not yet detained Reno.
DIY Regional Police Public Relations Chief, Kombes Ihsan, revealed that the case pertains to land utilisation in the Gandok Hamlet area. In this case, Reno is alleged to have leased the land without permission from the Governor.
“According to the investigation results, the land is located in the Gandok Hamlet area, Condongcatur. This land was leased to 17 tenants without permission from the Governor of DIY, resulting in losses. The losses amount to approximately over Rp 1 billion,” Ihsan stated when meeting journalists at the DIY Regional Police Headquarters on Tuesday (2/6).
