SLEMAN – Sleman Regent Harda Kiswaya has guaranteed there will be no terminations or dismissals of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) within the Sleman District Government. The assurance was given even though the district’s Transfer to Regions (TKD) funds have been cut by hundreds of billions of rupiah.

“I guarantee there will be no PPPK dismissals in Sleman,” Harda said in Sleman on Tuesday (4/8/2026).

Harda said Sleman District’s TKD allocation this year fell by around Rp 270 billion. Despite the reduction, the district’s financial condition remains relatively stable, supported by substantial Locally Generated Revenue (PAD).

“Alhamdulillah, Sleman has PAD. Our PAD is almost 50-50 with the TKD, so we can manage the impact of the cuts,” he said.

More than 3,000 PPPK serve within the Sleman District Government. Harda affirmed that the district government continues to work to improve their welfare to approach the minimum wage provisions, even though the region’s fiscal capacity remains limited and the budget must be shared across various development programmes.

While guaranteeing there is no general policy of dismissing PPPK, Harda said dismissals could still be carried out on a case-by-case basis if an employee is proven to have breached regulations or failed to perform their duties professionally.

“If there are rule violations, there are naturally consequences in accordance with the regulations, which could extend to termination of employment,” he said.

“But that is case by case, due to individual violations. In general, there is no policy of dismissing PPPK,” he added.

He also urged all PPPK in Sleman District to maintain their commitment and improve their performance in carrying out their duties.
