Sleman Prosecutor's Office Reports Witness in Ex-Regent Purnomo's Grant Fund Corruption Case to Police

A witness in the trial of the alleged corruption case involving the 2020 Sleman Regency Tourism Grant Fund, with defendant Sri Purnomo, has been reported to the Sleman Police. The individual was reported on suspicion of giving false testimony.

Head of Public Relations for the Sleman Police, Iptu Argo Anggoro, explained that the report was made by the investigation team from the Sleman District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari Sleman).

“The Kejari Sleman investigation team has officially reported a witness who provided false statements or oaths to the Sleman Police on 3 June 2026,” Argo stated in a written release on Thursday (25/6/2026).

Argo said the report is currently being handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Sleman Police and is still in the investigation phase.

“Satreskrim investigators have taken statements from two individuals who could serve as witnesses in this matter and have scheduled to request statements from three more people during this investigation process,” he said.

When asked for confirmation regarding this report, Sleman Chief Prosecutor Bambang Yunianto confirmed it. However, he did not detail the specifics of the report.

“(The person reported) is a witness with the initials KA,” Bambang said when contacted by detikJogja today.

Meanwhile, referring to the public prosecutor’s indictment, one of the witnesses with the initials KA in the corruption case is named Karunia Anas Hidayat, who served as the Chairman of the Sleman Regency Youth Organisation (Karang Taruna) in 2020.

According to the public prosecutor, around August 2020, Sri Purnomo’s son, Raudi Akmal, who was part of the campaign team for the Kustini-Danang pair, allegedly played an active role in lobbying various parties. This included giving orders to witness Karunia Anas Hidayat in his capacity as Chairman of the Sleman Regency Youth Organisation in 2020.

Witness Anas, who was a volunteer for the Kustini-Danang team, was ordered by Raudi to convey to community groups to submit tourism grant proposals, with a request to provide votes of support for Kustini-Danang.
