Sleman promotes economic potential

SLEMAN, Yogyakarta: In a bid to promote Slemen as a base for business, the provincial government invited about 30 journalists on Wednesday on a tour of the province led by vice regent Zaelani.

Zaelani said the program, a public relations exercise involving local government the media, was the second the administration had held this year.

"By taking journalists from the national and local media to view the industries we have here, hopefully the public will become more aware of them. It's also a good way to introduce Sleman to potential investors," he said.

Journalists on Wednesday visited an economic college in Seturan, Caturtunggal, a mushroom farm in Sawungan, Hargobinangun, and a herbal medicine laboratory in Pakem. -- JP
