Destination managers are advised to cooperate with local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) regarding the provision of tourist needs to improve the local economy. Managers are expected to ensure the implementation of Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment sustainability (CHSE) at tourism destinations, tourist villages, and tourism service businesses, including the provision of accommodation, food and drink, souvenirs, and other supporting businesses. Managers of tourist attractions located on the slopes of Mount Merapi are asked to comply with and follow directions from the Geological Disaster Technology Research and Development Centre (BPPTKG) and the Sleman Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) if there is an increase in Mount Merapi’s volcanic activity that results in a change in its status. Cooperation and coordination are also required with the nearest emergency and security services, such as hospitals, the Indonesian Red Cross, the Police, and the BPBD of Sleman Regency, to ensure tourist safety and security. This includes calibration or safety and worthiness tests as well as regular maintenance of business facilities/rides, especially for jeep tour operators in the Kaliurang, Kaliadem, and Tebing Breksi areas. Regarding tourist spending, the Sleman Regency Tourism Office asks entrepreneurs or destination managers not to raise product/service prices beyond reasonable limits and to display service prices in a place easily seen by tourists. In relation to cleanliness, destination managers are asked to manage waste generated from activities at tourism destinations, tourist villages, and tourism service businesses to ensure environmental sustainability, cleanliness, and beauty. The office will conduct monitoring and evaluation activities for Tourism Service Businesses in Sleman Regency.
