Sleman Police have upgraded the status of the rape case involving a former administrator of the Ash-Sholihah Islamic Boarding School, identified by the initials NH or GN, against a 21-year-old alumna, to the investigation stage. The victim of the alleged rape is currently pregnant.

“Regarding the alleged sexual violence criminal offence involving the reported individual NH, the status has been upgraded to the investigation stage as of Friday,” stated the Head of Public Relations for Sleman Police, Iptu Argo Anggoro, when contacted by journalists on Saturday (12/9/2026).

However, Argo was unable to disclose the number of witnesses examined. Further information will be provided at a later date.

“Moving forward, investigators are continuing to carry out further investigative steps,” he explained.

Previously, an administrator of an Islamic boarding school in Sleman, with the initials NH or GN, was reported to the police for allegedly raping a former student of the institution. The 21-year-old former student is now pregnant.

“The locus delicti (crime scene) was within the boarding school, specifically in one of the rooms inside the premises. The first incident occurred in late December 2025, and the second in January 2026,” said the victim’s legal counsel, Gusti Rian Saputra, when met at the Sleman Police Headquarters on Thursday (10/9).

Gusti noted that according to the official boarding school website, the alleged perpetrator is listed as the Vice Chairman of the Daily Board.

“We have also received information from several witnesses that he is indeed an official there. As an official, teacher, or kiai (religious leader), there is no dispute, as it is clearly stated on the official website and confirmed by several parties, including the boarding school itself,” he said.

According to Gustor, at the time of the incidents, the victim was a former student of the school. However, she was assigned by the boarding school to assist with its operations.

“She studied there for six years, from junior to senior high school, served for one year, and worked for two years without pay under the principle of ‘khidmat’ (devotion),” he said.

“During her eighth year of service at the school, she was occasionally picked up from home to assist in looking after infants under the care of one of the caregivers or officials there,” Gusti added.

The victim’s party reported the case to the Sleman Police on Monday (7/9). Evidence was included in the report, including the results of the victim’s ultrasound, which indicates an expected delivery in October.

“The victim’s testimony is clear. Under the Sexual Violence Crimes Law (TPKS), the victim’s testimony is sufficient to serve as evidence for further investigation. Furthermore, the ultrasound is a clear, clinically verifiable result that can be held accountable,” said Gusti.

“I want to convey that our client’s estimated due date is October 2026. I want to ask the Chief of Police, the Unit Head, and the appointed investigators: how long are you going to wait? Are you waiting until she gives birth so that there is no suspect?” he added.
