Sleepy driver
kills two

SALATIGA, Central Java: Two people died and another critically
injured when a truck laden with sand crashed head-on with an
intercity bus near Blotongan village on Tuesday.

The two occupants of the truck, 44-year old driver Miran and
his companion 40-year old Joko Triyono were instantly killed
while a passenger of the bus, Mrs. Sugini, is undergoing
treatment at a nearby hospital.

A witness said the truck had been swerving left and right for
sometime before it ran into the approaching bus.

It is suspected that the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
