South Korea continues to capture global attention, from the K-pop wave to innovative concepts in the hospitality sector. The RYSE, Autograph Collection in Seoul’s Hongdae district has introduced an oversized bed allowing guests to experience sleeping like a giant. According to Euronews.com (29 May 2026), the Curator Suite 1503 was developed in collaboration with Brooklyn-based art collective MSCHF. The hotel explains the concept stems from the idea that humans are growing taller across generations, necessitating larger accommodations in the future. The massive bed is spacious enough for a family, though the room’s capacity is limited to four guests. Beyond the unusual mattress size, the suite is designed as an art installation, featuring MSCHF’s artworks including the viral Big Red Boots – oversized red shoes inspired by Astro Boy anime footwear. The room also displays pieces from the Botched Masters series, which deliberately distort classic artworks. Despite its unconventional concept, the suite offers standard hotel amenities such as breakfast for two, a boombox, smart TV, and face masks. RYSE, Autograph Collection under Marriott’s network describes the boutique hotel as visionary. Additionally, until 31 August 2026, the hotel offers a Disney-themed Collect Package including Mickey and Minnie Mouse dolls, Disney Store Seoul gift sets, tote bags, and shopping vouchers.
