Skybridge Bandung Undergoes Testing: Whoosh and Feeder Services Flow More Smoothly
Jakarta — Skybridge Bandung has begun trial operations to support passenger accessibility for the Whoosh high-speed train service, which will integrate with the KA Feeder railway service.
The trial is being conducted by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transport, through the Bandung Railway Technical Centre Class I (BTP Bandung).
Endang Setiawan, Head of Bandung Railway Technical Centre Class I, stated that the trial aims to prevent passenger congestion ahead of the 2026 Eid transport season.
“This operational trial is designed to streamline passenger flow so that it is not concentrated at a single point,” Endang said in an official statement on Wednesday (11 March 2026).
“The use of the skybridge is also far more effective and efficient because the distance from passengers to the Feeder train is significantly reduced,” he added.
Endang explained that following this trial, as of 10 March 2026, the Feeder train passenger activity will transfer to the Feeder Hall of the High-Speed Train located on the eastern side of Bandung Station.
Endang noted that the operational trial serves as an evaluation tool ahead of the 2026 Eid transport season, when passenger capacity is expected to increase substantially.
“We are constantly committed to prioritising passenger comfort and safety and realising inclusive transport for the community,” he stated.
