Sky Route Returns to Normal After TransJakarta Bus Breakdown Causes Gridlock

A broken-down bus temporarily crippled TransJakarta’s Corridor 13 service, forcing passengers to disembark and walk along the elevated track. The operator has since confirmed that the ‘sky route’ service has returned to normal.

“Currently, it has returned to normal,” Ayu Wardhani, Head of the Public Relations and CSR Department at Transjakarta, told reporters on Wednesday evening. Ayu reported that travel conditions on Corridor 13 normalised at approximately 8:42 PM Western Indonesia Time. The buses on Corridor 13 are now serving passengers normally again.

“Route 13B and Route L13E are currently serving customers normally,” TransJakarta stated on its official X account.

The incident occurred when a TransJakarta bus broke down near Petukangan, South Jakarta. The breakdown forced the diversion of Route 13B and Route L13E, with operations temporarily shortened to terminate at the JORR Bus Stop. Video footage showed a queue of TransJakarta buses on the sky route, stuck in gridlock due to the stalled vehicle.

As a result of the disruption, a number of passengers were forced to get off and continue their journey on foot. Passengers were seen walking along the sky route towards Ciledug. TransJakarta advised prospective passengers heading to Petukangan, Puri Beta, and Ciledug to alight at the JORR Bus Stop and apologised for the inconvenience.
